TO ALL PEOPLE TO WHOM THESE PRESENTS SHALL COME-Greeting.

Know Ye, That I George CARTER of Killingworth in the County of Middlesex and State of Connecticut for the consideration of one hundred and sixty dollars received to my full satisfaction of Henry C. CARTER of the town County & State aforesaid do give, grant, bargain, sell, and confirm unto the said Henry C. CARTER his heirs and assigns forever one certain tract or parcel of land lying in Killingworth the first Society it being a tract of land I purchased of Stephen KELSEY. Bounded as follows viz. North by land belonging to Jane KELSEY, Westerly by land belonging to the heirs of Jedediah BUELL, Southerly by land belonging to Samuel KELSEY and Easterly by highway and land belonging to Elias CRANE Containing by estimation four acres be the same more or less.--

To have and to hold the above granted and bargained premises, with the appurtenances thereof unto him the said Henry C. CARTER his heirs and assigns for ever, to his and their own proper use and behoof. And also, I the said George CARTER do for myself and my heirs, executors, and administrators, covenant with the said Henry C. CARTER his heirs and assigns, that at and until the ensealing these presents I am well-seized of the premises as a good indefeasible estate in fee-simple, and have good right to bargain and sell the same in manner and form as is above written, and that the same is free of all incumbrances whatsoever.

And furthermore, I the said George CARTER do by these presents bind myself and my heirs for ever, to warrant and defend the above granted and bargained premises, to him the said Henry C. CARTER his heirs and assigns, against all claims and demands whatsoever.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and seal this eighteenth day of March Anno Domini one thousand eight hundred and twenty eight
