To all People to whom these Presents shall come,--GREETING.

KNOW YE, That I William CARTER of Killingworth the County of Middlesex and State of Connecticut for the consideration of Ninety two Dollars & fifty cents received to my full satisfaction of George CARTER of the same Town & County Do give, grant, bargain, sell and confirm unto the said George CARTER his heirs and assigns forever the one undivided half of a tract of land in the first society in said Killingworth with a dwelling house thereon standing it being the place that we W'm CARTER & George CARTER purchased of Mirajah? GRIFFIN, being butted and bounded as follows, southerly & westerly on land of Elias CRANE, northerly on land of Roswel REDFIELD, and easterly on highway containing forty and an half rods of land.

TO HAVE AND TO HOLD the above granted and bargained premises, with the appurtenances thereof unto him the said George CARTER his heirs and assigns forever, to his and their own proper use and behoof. And who, I the said William CARTER do for myself and my heirs, executors and administrators, covenant with the said George CARTER his heir heirs and assigns that at and until the ensealing these presents I am well seized of the premises as a good indefeasible estate in fee simple, and have good right to bargain and sell the same in manner and form as is above written, and that the same is free of all incumbrances whatsoever.

AND FURTHERMORE, I the said William CARTER do by these presents bind myself and my heirs forever, to warrant and defend the above granted and bargained premises, to him the said George CARTER his heirs and assigns, against all claims and demands whatsoever.

IN WITNESS whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 18th day of December Anno Domini One thousand eight hundred and eighteen.
