Deed from Hubbell CARTER 2d to Silas CARTER

To all People to whom these Presents shall come:--Greeting.

Know Ye, That I Hubbel CARTER 2d of Killingworth County of Middlesex & State of Connecticut

for the consideration of Fifty Dollars

Received to my full satisfaction of Silas CARTER of Town County & State aforesaid--

Do give, grant, bargain, sell and confirm unto the said Silas a certain piece or parcel of land lying in Killingworth known by the name of Hubbel Orchard Containing three acres & 24 rods, -- bounded easterly on Josiah CARTER - south & westerly on Hubbel CARTER & northerly on highway--

TO HAVE AND TO HOLD the above granted and bargained premises, with the appurtenances thereof, unto him the said Silas his heirs and assigns forever, to him and their own proper use and behoof. And I the said Hubbel do for myself and my heirs, executors and administrators, covenant with the said Silas his heirs and assigns; that at and until the ensealing these presents I am well seized of the premises, as a good indefeasible estate in fee simple, and have good right to bargain and sell the same in manner and form as it is above written, and that the same is free of all incumbrances whatsoever.

AND FURTHERMORE, I the said Hubbel do by these present bind myself and my heirs forever, to warrant and defend the above granted and bargained premises, to him the said Silas his heirs and assigns, against all claims and demands whatsoever.

IN WITNESS whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and seal this day of December AD 1813-Provided nevertheless if the s'd Hubbel CARTER 2d his heirs, Ex't & Adm'rs shall well & truly pay to Cornelius CHITTENDEN a certain note of hand by him s'd Hubbel well executed in form following viz: Killingworth Nov'r 7th 1813-On demand for value Rec'd I promise to pay Cornelius CHITTENDEN fifty dollars with lawful interest till paid-witness my hand Hubbell CARTER 2d

And under written - Silas CARTER - then this deed is to be void
