Deed from Robert CARTER to his son, Samuel CARTER

To all Christian People to whome these presents shall Come I Robert CARTER of Killingworth in the County of New london and Coloney of Conecticut In New England send Greeting Know ye that I the s'd Robert CARTER for a valuable Consideration in hand Received of my son Samuel CARTER of the Town County and Coloney afores'd the Receipt whereof I Do hereby acknowledge and my self there with fully satisfyed Contented & paid, have Given Granted Bargained Sold alliened Conveyed and Confirmed and by these presents Do fully freely and absolutely Give Grant Bargain Sell alien Convey and Confirm unto him the s'd Samuel CARTER his heirs and assigns forever a Certain tract or parcell of Land Situate In Killingworth afores'd it being in Length thirty Rods, in Breadth twenty two Rods Containing four acres more or less Bounded Eastwardly by the Indian River westward by the home sted that Lately belonged to Samuel STEEVENS Deceased Northerly by Cap't Josiah STEEVENSES Land and Southwardly by the Highway or Country road. To Have and To Hold the s'd Granted and Bargained premises with the Dwelling house Barn fences and fruit Trees thereon standing with all the appurtenances ?? comodities and Right in Commons thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining to him the s'd Samuel CARTER his heirs and assigns forever to his and their only proper use benefit and behoof forever and I the s'd Robert CARTER for my self my heirs Executors & Administrators Do Covenant promise and Grant to and with the s'd Samuel CARTER his heirs and assigns that before the Ensealing hereof I am the true sole and Lawfull owner of the above Bargained premises and have in my self Good Right full power and Lawfull authority to Bargain and sell the same in manner as aboves'd and that the s'd Samuel CARTER his heirs and assigns shall and may from time to time and at all times forever hereafter by force and vertue of these presents Lawfully peaceably and quietly Have Hold use occupie possess and Enjoy the s'd Bargained premises free and Clear freely and Clearly acquitted Exonerated and discharged of an from all and all manner of former or other Gifts Grants, ?gages Wills Joynters Dowryes Entailes or Incumbrances in the Law whatsoever moreover I the s'd Robert CARTER for my self my heirs Executors and Administrators Do Covenant and Ingage the above Demised premises to him the s'd Samuell CARTER his heirs and assigns against the Lawfull Claimes or Demands of any person or persons whome soever forever hereafter to warrant secure and defend In witness where of I the s'd Robert CARTER have hereunto set my hand and seale this twenty third Day of July Anno Domin'c Seventeen hundred and twenty three and in the ninth year of his majesties Reign George King of Great Brittain &c
