To all Christian People these presents shall Come Greeting Know ye that I Sam'll CARTER of Killingworth in the County of Newlondon and Coloney of Conecticut in New England for Divers good Causes and Considerations me there unto moveing have Given Granted Bargained sold alliened Conveyed and Confirmed and Do by these presents fully freely and absolutly Give Grant Bargain sell allien Convey and Confrim unto my Brother Benjamin CARTER of Killingworth above s'd and to his heirs and assigns forever a Certain tract or parcell of Land scituate in Killingworth Lying on ye hill Called Tower hill the description whereof is as follows begining at a white oak tree marked with stoans Cast about it thence northerly forty two Rods to a white oak tree marked stons about it thence northwesterly one hundred and twenty Rods to a blackoak tree stoanes Cast about it and marked thence southwardly ninty two rods to a heap of stoans thence an hundred and twenty Rods to the first mentioned Corner Containg fifty Acres Bounded Eastwardly by the highway northwardly by the Land of Benjamin GRISWOLD westwardly by my own Land Southerly in part by my own Land and partly by the Land belonging to Abel STEEVENS To Have and To Hold ye s'd Granted and Bargained premises with the privilidges appurtenances and Comodities to the same belonging or in anywise appertaining to him the s'd Benjamin CARTER his heirs and assigns forever to his and their own propper use benifit and behoof forever and I the s'd Samuel CARTER for my self my heirs Executors and administrators Do Covenant promis and grant to and with the s'd Benjamin CARTER his heirs and assigns that before the Ensealeing here of I am the true sole and Lawfull owner of ?d house? In my self good Right full power and Lawfull authority to sell the same in manner of above s'd and that the s'd Benjamin CARTER his heirs and assigns all & may from time to time and at all times forever here after by force and virtue of these presents Lawfully peaceably and quietly Have Hold use occupie possess and Enjoy the same with the privilidges and Comodities to the same belonging or in any wise appertaining to him the s'd Benjamin CARTEr his heirs and assigns forever to his and their only propper use benifit and behoof forever free and Clear freely and Clearly acquitted Exonerated and discharged of and from all and all manner of former or other gifts Grants sales or Incumbrances in the Law whatsoever Furthermore I ye s'd Samuel CARTER for my self my heirs Executors and Administrators Do Covenant and Engage ye s'd Demised premises to him the s'd Benjamin CARTER his heirs and assigns against ye Lawfull Claimes or Demands of any person or persons in ye Law whatsoever forever here after to warrant secure and defend in witness whereof I the s'd Sameul CARTER have hereunto set my hand and seale this thirtyeth Day of August Anno=Domini one thousand seven hundred and twenty Eight and in the second year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord George the second King of Great Brittain &c
