TO ALL PEOPLE TO WHOM THESE PRESENTS SHALL COME-Greeting.
Know Ye, That I Josiah CARTER of Killingworth in the County of Middlesex & State of Connecticut for the consideration of fifty Dollars received to my full satisfaction of Charles CARTER of the town County & State fore said Do give, grant, bargain, sell, and confirm unto the said Charles CARTER a certain tract or parcel of land lying in the first society of Killingworth near Mill plain so called, Bounded as follows, Northerly by s'd Charles CARTER's land, Beginning at a heap of stones & running Easterly about fifteen rods to a fence, thence Southerly by my own land by s'd fence about thirty five rods, thence Westerly by a fence & my own land about fourteen rods & thence Northerly to the first named bounds, Bounded Northerly by s'd Charles CARTER's land & East, South & West by my own land, Containing about three acres & twenty four rods of land be the same more or less.
To have and to hold the above granted and bargained premises, with the appurtenances thereof unto him the said Charles CARTER his heirs and assigns for ever, to his and their own proper use and behoof. And also, I the said Josiah CARTER do for myself and my heirs, executors, and administrators, covenant with the said Charles CARTER his heirs and assigns, that at and until the ensealing these Presents I am well-seized of the premises as a good indefeasible estate in fee-simple, and have good right to bargain and sell the same in manner and form as is above written, and that the same is free of all incumbrances whatsoever.
And furthermore, I the said Josiah CARTER do by these Presents bind myself and my heirs for ever, to warrant and defend the above granted and bargained premises, to him the said Charles CARTER his heirs and assigns, against all claims and demands whatsoever
