To all People to whom these Presents shall come:--GREETING.

KNOW YE, That I Benjamin CARTER of Killingworth County of Middlesex & State of Connecticut for the consideration of Six hundred & one Dollars fifty eight cents-

Received to my full satisfaction of Silas CARTER of the Town County & State aforesaid-Do give, grant, bargain, sell, and confirm unto the said Silas CARTER his heirs & assigns forever a certain tract or piece of land lying in the aforesaid Town County & State bounded in form following viz. First at the land which I own North & East of the road which land, by my Dwelling house together with the buildings standing thereon Containing 50 acres more or less is Bounded Southerly on highway & George ELLIOTT land Easterly on Say Brook line-then northerly on Jonathan & David WRIGHT's land - then westerly on Josiah & Silas CARTER's land then northerly & Easterly on SILAS CARTER - then northerly & westerly on Hubbel CARTER & highway-Also a lot called the swamp pasture bounded East on highway - South on Thacker LANE's land - west & north on George ELLIOTT's Land - Containing Eleven acres more or less-Also a lot known by the name of Barn lot with the barn standing thereon - bounded west north & East on highway & south on Asa WATROUS land - Containing fifteen acres more or less - Also a piece of black grass meadow adjoining Hammonaset River near a place called Ellis Cove Containing one acre mor or less - bounded southerly on the River - westerly & northerly on the Creek & easterly on the land of Gideon KELCY - Also a lot known by the name old lot Containing Six acres mor or less - bounded north & west on Asa WATEROUS land - south on Silas CARTER's land & East on highway.-

TO HAVE AND TO HOLD the above granted and bargained premises, with the appurtenances thereof, unto him the said Silas CARTER his heirs and assigns forever, to his and their own proper use and behoof. And also, I the said Benjamin CARTER do for myself and my heirs, executors and administrators, covenant with the said SilasCARTER his heirs and assigns that at and until the ensealing these presents I am well seized of the remises as a good indefeasible estate in fee simple, and have good right to bargain and sell the same in manner and form as is above written, and that the same if free of all incumbrances whatsoever.

AND FURTHERMORE, I the said Benjamin CARTER do by these presents, bind myself and my heirs forever to warrant and defend the above granted and bargained premises, to him the said Silas CARTER his heirs and assigns, against all claims and demands whatsoever.

IN WITNESS whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 9th day of September Anno Domini 1809.--
