To all Christian People to whome these presents shall come Greeting Know ye that I Robert CARTTER of Killingworth In the County of New London and Coloney of Conecticut in New England, for a valluable Consideration in Land by way of Exchange made over to me by a sificient Instrument in wrighting under the hand and seale of my son Samuel CARTTER of the town County & Coloney afores'd bareing Date with these presents have by way of Exchang Given Granted madeover conveyed and Confirmed and by these presents Do for my self my heirs Executors & Administrators fully freely and absolutly Exchang Give Grant make over Convey and confirm unto him the s'd son Samuel CARTTER & to his heirs and assigns forever a Certain tract or parcel of upland scituate in Killingworth afore s'd lying near my farm where I now dwell it being in breadth sixteen Rods, in length the Eastwardly side thirty three Rods & a quarter, on the westwardly side thirty three Rods the Boundaryes at Each Corner are heaps of stoans Bounded Northerly by a highway, other waies by the Common containing three acres & a quarter & Eleven Rods To Have and To Hold the s'd Granted and Bargained premises with all the appurtenances privilidges and Comodities to the same belonging or in any wise appertaining to him the s'd son Samuel CARTTER his heirs and assigns forever to his and their only propper use benifit and behoof forever and I the s'd Robert CARTTER for my self my heirs Executors and Administrators Do Covenant Grant and promise to and with the s'd Samuel CARTTER his heirs and assigns that before the Ensealeing hereof I am the true sole and Lawfull owner of the above granted premises and have in my self Good Right full power and Lawfull authority to Bargain and sell the same in manner as above s'd and that the s'd Samuel CARTTER his heirs and assigns shall and may from time to time and at all times forever hereafter by force and virtue of these presents Lawfully peaceably and quietly Have Hold use occupie possess & Enjoy the above Granted premises with the appurtenances free and Clear freely and Clearly acquitted Exonerated and discharged of and from all and all manner of former or other Gifts Grants Bargains sales or Incumbrances in the Law whatsoever moreover I the s'd Robert CARTTER for my self my heirs Executors and Administrators Do Covenant and Ingage the above Granted premises with the appurtenances free and Clear freely & Clearly against the Lawfull Claimes or Demands of any person or persons whome soever forever here after to warrant secure and defend In witness whereof I the s'd Robert CARTER have here unto set my hand and seale this sixty Day of August Anno=Dominie 1731 and in the fourth year of the Reign of our sovereign Lord George the second King of Great Brittain &c
