To all people to whom these presents Shall Come Greeting Know Ye that I Benjamin CARTER of Killingworth in the County of New London & Colony of Connecticut in New England for the Consideration of Eighteen pounds Lawfull money Receiv'd to my full Satisfaction of Ame CARTER wife to Amos CARTER of Saybrook in s'd County of New London Do Give grant bargain Sell and Confirm unto the s'd Ame CARTER her heirs and assigns forever, one piece of Land Lyeing and being in Saybrook afores'd in Oyster River quarter, beginning at the Northeast corner at a heap of Stones, Thence running westerly 33 rods to a heap of Stones, thence running Southerly by Saybrook line 26 rods to a heap of Stones, Thence running Easterly 9 rods & an half to a heap of Stones, Thence Southerly 14 rods to a heap of Stones, thence Easterly 24 rods to a heap of Stones, Thence Northerly 34 rods to the first mentioned corner; Bounded as followeth Northerly upon Josiah CARTER's land, Westerly upon Killingworth line, southerly upon my own land, Easterly upon Land belonging to the heirs of Joseph CARTER of s'd Saybrook dec'd Containing Seven acres & an half be ? Same more or less. To have and to hold the above granted & bargained premises with the appurtenances thereof unto her the s'd Ame CARTER her heirs and assigns forever to her and their own proper Use and Behoof. And also I the Said Benjamin CARTER do for my Self my heirs Executors and Administrator's Covenant with the Said Ame CARTER her heirs and assign, that of and untill the Ensealing these presents I am well Seized of the premises as a good Indefeasible Estate in Fee Simple and have good right to bargain and Sell the Same in Manner and form as is above Written and that the Same is free of all Incumbrances whatsoever. And furthermore I the s'd Benj'm CARTER do by these presents bind my Self and my heirs forever to Warrant & Defend the above granted & bargained premises to her the Said Ame CARTER her Heirs & Assigns against all Claims & Demands whatsoever. In Wittness whereof I have hereunto Set my hand & Seal the 26th day of Septemb'r In the 10th year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord George the 3d of Great Britain &c King: Anno Dom. 1770
