To all Christian People to whome these presents shall Come Greeting Know ye that I Samuel CARTER of Killingworth in Newlondon County in the Coloney of Conecticut in New England for and in Consideration of the sum of four hundred pounds Currant money of the Coloney afore s'd to me in hand before the Ensealeing hereof well and truly paid by Joseph BUELL of the town County and Coloney afore s'd the Receipt where of I Do hereby acknowledg Have Given Granted Bargained sold alliened and Conveyed and Confirmed and do by these presents for my self my heirs Executors & administrators fully freely and absolutly give Grant Bargain sell allien Convey & Confirm unto him the s'd Joseph BUELL his heirs and assigns forever a certain tract or parcell of Land scituate in Killingworth afore s'd lying on the hill Called Tower hill Begining at a white wood tree at a Corner of s'd CARTER's Land thence Eastward to a Blackoak tree with a stone in the Crotch thence Continuing Easterly to a white oak tree marked with a S C and from s'd white wood tree to s'd white oak tree is one hundred and twenty Rods, thence northerly forty Rods to a heap of stones, thence westerly one hundred and sixty Rods to a Chestnut tree marked it being Benjamin GRISWOLD's southwest corner thence southerly so far ye and side of s'd CARTER's Land ?? be needful to Compleat sixty five acres and ? Directed to the above mentioned white wood tree To Have and To Hold the s'd Granted and Bargained premises with the appurtenances privilidges and Comodities ? use Baran and fruit trees there on standing or in any wise appertaining to him the s'd Joseph BUELL his heirs and assigns forever unto him and their only propper use benifit and behoof forever and I the s'd Samuel CARTER for my self my heirs Executors & administrators Do Covenant promise and grant to & with the s'd Joseph BUELL his heirs and assigns that before the Ensealeing hereof I am the true sole and Lawfull owner of the above Bargained premises and have in my self good right full power and Lawfull authority to Bargain and sell the same in manner and that the s'd Joseph BUELL his heirs and assigns shall and may from time to time and at all times forever here after by force and vertue of these presents Lawfully peaceably & quietly have hold use occupie possess and Enjoy the s'd granted premises free & Clear freely and Clearly acquitted Exonerate and discharged of and from all and all manner of former or other gifts grants Bargain sales or Incumbrances in the Law whatsoever furthermore I ye s'd Samuel CARTER for my self my heirs Executors and administrators Do Covenant promise & Ingage the above bargained premises to him the s'd Joseph BUELL his heirs and assigns forever against the Lawfull Claimes or Demands of any person or persons in Law whomsoever have after to warrant secure and Defend In witness my hand and seale this twenty first day of august AD one thousand seven hundred and thirty three
