TO ALL PEOPLE TO WHOM THESE PRESENTS SHALL COME-Greeting.

Know Ye, That I W'm CARTER of Killingworth in the County of Middlesex and State of Connecticut for the consideration of three hundred Dollars received to my full satisfaction of Pierpont BRACKETT of Saybrook County of Middlesex and State of Connecticut Do give, grant, bargain, sell, and confirm unto the said Pierpont BRACKETT his heirs and assigns forever one certain tract of land in said Killingworth first society, containing a bout forty acres of land and pond with a Grist mill and filling mill thereon standing with all the appurtenances thereunto belonging known by the name of WRIGHT's Mill.--

To have and to hold the above granted and bargained premises, with the appurtenances thereof unto him the said Pierpont BRACKETT his heirs and assigns for ever, to his and their own proper use and behoof. And also, I the said W'm CARTER do for myself and my heirs, executors, and administrators, covenant with the said Pierpont BRACKETT his heirs and assigns, that at and until the ensealing these Presents I am well-seized of the premises as a good indefeasible estate in fee-simple, and have good right to bargain and sell the same in manner and form as is above written, and that the same is free of all incumbrances whatsoever.

And furthermore, I the said W'm CARTER do by these Presents bind myself and my heirs for ever, to warrant and defend the above granted and bargained premises, to him the said Pierpont BRACKETT his heirs and assigns, against all claims and demands whatsoever. Alway provided that these presents ? on conditions that if the said W'm CARTER his heirs executors or administrators shall well and truly pay to the said Pierpont BRACKETT his heirs executors administrators one certain Note of hand by him the s'd William CARTER well executed dated first day of April 1828 for the sum of three hundred dollars with interest until paid according to the tenor of said Note or within three years from this date then this deed is to be void and of none effect otherwise to remain in full force power and virtue.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 7th day of July Anno Domini one thousand eight hundred and twenty nine
