To all People to whom these presents shall come Greeting: Know ye that I Robert CARTER of Killingworth in the County of New London and Colony of Connecticut in New England for and in consideration of Eight Pounds Currant Money to me in hand well and truly paid at or before ye ensealing hereof by Samuel PLATTS of Saybrook in the County and Colony aforesaid the Receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge to full satisfaction have given granted bargained sold conveyed and confirmed unto him the said Sam'll PLATTS his heirs and assigns forever a certain right of lands in Oyster River Quarter in Say-Brook.

To have and to hold the above said Fifty pound right with the appurtenances priviledges & Commodities to the same belonging or in any wise appertaining unto him the said Samuell PLATTS his heirs and assigns forever to his and their own proper use benefit and behoof forever free and clear freely clearly acquitted and discharged of an from all manner of former gifts grants bargains sales or other incumbrances in the laws whatsoever and I the said Robert CARTER for myself my heirs executors and administrators do Covenant Promise and grant & with said Sam'll PLATTS his heirs and assign that at and untill the ensealing of these presents I am the true sole and lawfull owner of the above demised premises and have in my self good right full power and lawfull authority to bargain and sell the same in manner and form as is above written and hereby bind myself and my heirs to Warrant Secure and Defend the above granted and bargained premises forever to him the said Sam'll PLATTS his heirs and assigns against ye lawfull Claims of any person whatsoever.

In Witness Whereof I the said Robert CARTER have hereunto set my hand and seal this 3d day of October A. D. 1737.
