To all Christian People to whome these presents Shall come Greeting Know ye that we John CARTTER and Josiah NETTLETON of Killingworth in the County of Newlondon and Coloney of Conecticut in New England for and in Consideraiton of twenty four pounds Currant money to us in hand paid before the Ensealeing here of by Benjamin MERRELL of the above s'd Killingworth Have Given Granted Bargained sold alliened Conveyed and Confirmed & by these presents Do freely fully and absolutly Give Grant Bargain sell allien Convey and Confirm unto him ye s'd Benjamin MERREL his heirs and assigns forever a certain tract or parcell of Land scituate in Killingworth afore s'd lying on a place known by the name of the long hill begining at heap of stones at Mr. ELIOT's stone fence thence westerly nine Rods to a heap of Stones thence northerly thirty two Rods and an half to a heap of Stones thence Eastwardly seventy Eight Rods to a heap of stones thence southerly twelve Rods and an half to a heap of stones thence westerly sixty nine Rods to a heap of stones thence southerly Twenty Rods to the first mentioned containing six acres and a half & twenty six Rods Bounded southerly in part by Mr. ELIOT's Land and par by Benjamin MERRELL's his own Land Easterly by highway other wayes by the Common: four acres three quartes & two Rods of land Lying being s'd NETTELTON Lot in ye tenth Division & one acre three quarters & twenty four rods in said CARTTER's Lot in ye tent Division To Have and To Hold the s'd Granted premises together with all the appurtenances privilidges and Comodities to the same belonging or in any wise appertaining to him the s'd Benjamin MERRELL his heirs and assigns forever to his & their only prooper use Benifit and behoof forever free and Clear from all Incumbrances in the Law whatsoever and we the s'd John CARTTER and Josiah NETTLETON for our selves our heirs Executors & administrators Do covenant promise and Grant to and with the s'd Benjamin MERRELL his heirs and assigns that before the Ensealeing hereof wee have good Right full power and Lawfull authority to Bargain and sell the above Granted premises in manner of above s'd and hereby bind and oblige our selves our heirs Executors & administrators to warrant secure and defend the s'd Granted premises forever to him the s'd MERRELL his heirs and assigns against the Lawfull Claimes or Demands of any person or persons whomsoever In witness whereof we have hereunto set our hands and seales this fourth Day of March A:D: one thousand seven hundred and thirty four5
