Deed from Joseph CARTER to John CHITTENDEN

To all People to whom these Presents shall come:--GREETING.
KNOW Ye, That I Joseph CARTER of Saybrook in the County of Middlesex & State of Connecticut
for the consideration of two Dollars--.
Received to my full satisfaction of John CHITTENDEN of Saybrook in the County of Middlesex & State aforesaid-
Do give, grant, bargain, fell, and confirm unto the said John CHITTENDEN his heirs & assigns forever-a certain piece of land lying in the Township of Killingworth at place known by the name of HILL? Being bounded as follows-beginning at a heap of stones at the foutherist corner of Ezekiel WRIGHT's land-running thence southerly 9 rods & one quarter to a heap of stones in the line of fence-thence northerly 9 rod, & one quarter to a heap of stones in the fence-thence Easterly one rod & seven links to the first mentioned corner-Containing about five rod, of land-being bounded easterly by land of the s'd John CHITTENDEN-westerly by land of Joseph CARTER northerly by land of John CHITTENDEN

TO HAVE AND TO HOLD the above granted and bargained premises, with the appurtenances thereof, unto him the said John CHITTENDEN his heirs and assigns forever, to his and their own proper use and behoof. And also, I the said Joseph CARTER do for my self and my heirs, executors and administrators, covenant with the said John CHITTENDEN his heirs and assigns; that all and until the ensealing these presents I am well seized of the premises as a good indefeasible estate in fee simple, and have good to bargain and sell the same in manner and form as is above written, and that the same is free of all incumbrances whatsoever.

AND FURTHERMORE, I the said Joseph CARTER
Do by these presents, bind y self and my heirs forever to warrant and defend the above granted and bargained premises, to him the said John CHITTENDEN his heirs and assigns, against all claims and demands whatsoever.

IN WITNESS whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 20 day of Feb'ry Anno Domini 1804
