Deed from Stephen BUSHNELL to Jared SPENCER

To all People to whom these presents shall come Greeting Know ye that I, Stephen BUSHNELL of Saybrook in ye County of New London in ye Colony of Connecticut in New England Husbandman, for divers good causes & Considerations me thereunto moving and especially for & in Consideration of ye sum of four pounds in Current Silver money of this Colony or in good & merchantable provision pay at market price to me in hand secured by a sufficient Instrument in wrighting under ye hand of Jared SPENCER of SayBrook in the County & Colony afores'd, the Rec't whereof I do hereby acknowledge & myself therewith fully satisfied & contented have given, granted bargained, sold alienated conveyed made over & Confirmed & by these presents do freely fully and absolutely give grant bargain sell aliene convey make over & Confirm unto him ye s'd Jared SPENCER his heirs executors administrators and assigns for ever all my right title interest claim & Demand with all other my propriety to all any & every of a Third Division Right in ye Lands of Oyster River Quarter in ye bounds of SayBrook aforesaid to be laid out unto me ye said Stephen BUSHNELL and according to ye Custom of ye Quarter in Oyster River in SayBrook, according to my right in said Division to complete Ten acres be it more or less as to ye number of acres according to ye nature quality & goodness of ye Land: To Have & to Hold all ye Granted and bargained premises with all ye appurtainances privileges and advantages to ye same belonging or in any wise appertaining to him ye said Jared SPENCER his executors administrators & assigns forever to his and their only proper use benefit & behoof forever & I ye said Stephen BUSHNELL for me my heirs executors & administrators Do Covenant Promise & Grant to & with ye said Jared SPENCER his heirs executors administrators & assigns that before and at the Insealing hereof I ye s'd Stephen BUSHNELL am ye true sole & lawfull owner of all ye above bargained premises & have in myself good right full power & lawfull authority to grant bargain sell convey and confirm aboves'd bargained Premises in manner as afores'd & that ye said Jared SPENCER his heirs & assigns shall and may from time to time and at all times forever hereafter by force & vertue of these presents lawfully peaceably & quietly receive occupie possess & injoy all ye afore bargained premises freely & clearly acquitted and discharged of an from all and all manner of Incumbrances and extents whatsoever & I ye said Stephen BUSHNELL for me my heirs executors & administrators will Warrant Secure & Defend all and ever the afore bargained premises against all person or persons lawfully claiming or Demanding the same and also at the proper cost & charge of said Jared his heirs or assign to make signe seal and pass over more full and ample assurance of ye premises as in law or equily can be devised or required In Witness whereof I ye said Stephen BUSHNELL have hereunto set my hand and seal in SayBrook this 16th day of May in ye fourth year of ye Reign of Our Sovereign Lady Anne Queen of England &c. Anno Domini 1705
