Deed from Stephen BUSHNELL to Christopher LAY

Know all men by these presents That I Stephen BUSHNELL of Saybrook In New London County & in ye Colony of Connecticut In New England for ye Consideration of ye sum of Thirty two Pounds in Bills of Credit of ye Old Tennor of this Colony to me in hand paid by Christopher LAY of said Say-brook have Given Granted & by these presents freely & absolutely Give Grant Bargain Sell Convey & confirm unto him ye said Christopher LAY his heirs executors &c., forever a certain tract of Meadow lying In said Say-Brook In ye Quarter of Oyster River Containing two acres be ye same more or less bounded & described as followeth viz: Easterly & Westerly on Meadow Belonging to Isaac JONES Southerly by ye Sea or Sound Northerly by a Creek together with a pent road from ye Country Road thro' Caleb CHAPMAN's land for Carting ye Hay of sd Meadow In some Convenient place where it shall be least predjudicial to sd. CHAPMAN.

To Have and To Hold all and singular the above granted and bargained premises to him the said Christopher LAY his hers and assigns forever as a Good Estate of Inheritance in ffee & I ye said Stephen BUSHNELL Do for myself my heirs &c., Covenant and Ingage to Warrant Secure & Defend the above Granted & Bargained premises to him ye said Christopher LAY his heirs & assigns forever hereafter against all ye claims and demands of any person or persons whatsoever.

In Witness Whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal ye 16th Day of November & in ye 17th year of his Majesties Reign A.D. 1743.
