Deed from Edward BULL to Robert LAY

Know all men by these presents that I Edward BULL of Saybrook in the County of New London and Colony of Connecticut in New England for the consideration of Two Hundred and ten pounds in Bill of Credit of the old tenor received to my full satisfaction of Robert LAY of the same Saybrook do give grant bargain sell convey & confirm unto him the said Robert LAY his heirs and assigns forever one certain piece of land lying in Potopague Quarter in said Saybrook and in the Parish of Chester Bounded Northerly on Ebenezer PRATT's & Jonathan NICHOLS's land Easterly on Rebecah NORTON's land Westerly & Southerly on land supposed common land The Northwest Corner is a White oak tree marked with stones about it form thence running Easterly Sixty three rods to a Black Oak Stadle with stones about it Thence Westerly one hundred & forty eight rods to a stake with stones about it thence Norwesterly thirty six rods to the first mentioned bound or corner containing by estimation about forty seven acres to be the same more or less within said boundaries.

To Have and to Hold the said granted and bargained premises with the appurtenances thereof to him the said Robert LAY his heirs & assigns forever to his and their own proper use and behoof And also I the said Edward BULL for myself my heirs executors & administrators Do Covenant with the said Robert LAY his heirs & assings that at and untill the ensealing of these presents I am lawfully seized of the premises as a good Indefeasible estate in fee simple and have good right to bargain and sell the same in manner and form as is above written and that the same is free of all incumbrances whatsoever. Furthermore I the said Edward BULL for myself my heirs executors & Administrators do engage to Warrant & Defend the above Granted and bargained premises to him the said Robert LAY his heirs and assigns against all claims and demands whatsoever.

In Witness whereof I the said Edward BULL have hereunto set my hand and seal this 6th day of November in ye 20th year of his Majesties Reign Annoque Domini 1746.
