To all Christian People to whom these presents Shall come Greeting Know ye that I David BUELL of Killingworth in y'e County of Newlondon & Coloney of Conecticut in New England for and in Consideration of the sum of twenty pounds in or equivalent &c currant money of New England to me in hand paid before the Ensealing hereof in a barn built by David ?? standing near my s'd BULL's house lot now sold to me by my son in Law Josiah HURD of s'd Killingworth y'e Receipt whereof I Do hereby acknowledge Have Given Granted Bargained Sold aliened Conveyed and Confirmed & by these presents Do fully freely & absolutly Give Grant Bargain sell alien Convey and Confirm unto him the s'd Josiah HURD his heirs & assigns forever a Certain tract or parcel of Land scituate in y'e Townhsip of s'd Killingworth lying a little northwesterly from s'd Josiah HURD's Dwelling house beginning at one of y'e northeasterly corners at a small walnut tree marked stons Cast a bout it Runing thence westerly thirteen Rods to a white oak staddle marked thence northwesterly twenty four Rods to a Chesnut Straddle marked with a sone in it crotch thence southerly in y'e line of Sam'll BUELL's Land sixty nine Rods to a black oak Staddle mared with it a bound of s'd Sam'll BUELL's Land thence Easterly in s'd Sam'll BUELL's Line thirty Rods to a Chestnut tree a corner or s'd Sam'll BUELL's Land Runing stil Easterly four Rods to a Chestnut tree marked thence northerly fifty four Rods to the first mentioned Corner. Containing ten acres & fourteen Rods as it is Bounded west by the Land of Sam'll BUELL south in part by y'e Land of s'd Sam'll BUELL and part by Common Land northerly by ye highway and Easterly by Common Land as by the survey on Record will more appeare To Have and To Hold the above Granted and Bargained premises with all the appurtenances & privilidges to the same belonging or in any wise appertaining to him the s'd Josiah HURD his heirs and assigns forever to his and their own proper use benefit & behoof forever & I the s'd David BUELL for my self my heirs Executors & administrators Do covenant promise and Grant to & with the s'd Josiah HURD his heirs and assigns that before the Ensealeing here of I am the true sole & Lawfull owner of y'e above granted premises & have in my self good Right full power & Lawfull authority to Bargain & sell the same in manner as above s'd and that the s'd Josiah HURD his heirs & assigns shall & may from time to time and at all times forever here after by force & virtue of these presents Lawfully peaceably & quietly Have Hold use occupie possess & Injoy the above granted & bargained premises with the appurtenances free & clear freely & clearly acquitted Exonerated and discharged of & from all & all manner of former or other gifts grants bargains Sales or Incumbrances in the Law whatsoever moreover I the s'd David BUELL for my self my heirs Executors & administrators Do promise & Engage the above granted premises to him y'e s'd Josiah HURD his heirs & assigns against y'e Lawfull Claimes or demands of any person or persons whomsoever forever here after to warrant secure & Defend In witness whereof I y'e s'd David BUELL have here unto set my hand and seale this thirteenth day of April AD 1741 and in y'e fourteenth year of y'e Reign of our sovereign Lord George y'e second King of Great Brittain &c
