To all Christian People To whom these presents shall Come Greeting Know ye that I Joseph BUELL of Killingworth in the County of Newlondon and Coloney of Conecticut in New England for and in Consideration of the sum of four hundred pounds Current money to me in hand paid before the Ensealeing here of by Samuel CARTER of the afore s'd Killingworth the Receipt whereof I Do hereby acknowledg to full satisfaction Have Given Granted Bargain Sell allien Convey & Confirm and by these presents Do freely fully and absolutly give grant Bargain sell allien Convey & Confirm and by these presents Do freely fully and absolutly give grant Bargain sell allien Convey and Confirm unto him the s'd Sam'll CARTER his heirs and assigns forever a Certain tract or parcel of Land scituate in Killingworth afore s
D it being the homested which did lately belong to my Honr'd father Cp't Samuel BUELL Late of s'd Killingworth Desead'd Bounded Northerly by James PIERSON's Land southerly by the Land of Gideon Allen John STEEVENS and the Land in the possession of Josiah HULL westerly in part by Land Belonging to Cap't David BUELL and in part by the lot which formerly belonged to Christopher TOLLY Deceas'd and Eastward by a highway Containing twelve acres, To Have and To Hold the s'd Granted & bargained premises together with the Dwelling house Barn fences orcharding and fruit trees and all the appurtenances privilidges & Comodities to the same belonging or in any wais appertaining to him the s'd Sam'll CARTER his heirs and assigns forever to his and their only propper use benifit and behoof forever and I the s'd Joseph BUELL for myself my heirs Executors & Administrators do Covenant promise & Grant to & with the s'd Sam'll CARTER his heirs & assigns that before the Ensealeing here of I am the true sole & Lawfull owner of the above Bargained premises and have in my self Good right full power and Lawfull authority to Bargain and sell the same in manner as above s'd and that the s'd Sam'll CARTER his heirs and assigns shall and may from time to time and at all times forever here after by force and virtue of these presents Have Hold use occupie possess & Enjoy the s'd demised premises free and Clear freely & Clearly acquitted Exonerated & discharged of & from all & all manner of former or other gifts grants Bargains sales or Incumbrances in ye Law whatsoever moreover I the s'd Joseph BUELL for my self my heirs Executors and administrators do promise & Engage the above granted unto him the s'd Sam'll CARTER his heirs & assigns against the Lawfull Claimes and demands of any person or persons whome soever forever here after to warrant secure and defend In whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seale this 21st day of August AD 1733
