To all People to whom these Presents shall come:--Greeting.

Know Ye, That I John BRADLEY of Killingworth in the County of Middlesex & State of Connecticut for the consideration of two Hundred and seventy two dollars received to my full satisfaction of William CARTER of Killingworth in the County of Middlesex & State aforesaid--

Do give, grant, bargain, sell and confirm unto the said William Carter his heirs & assigns forever one certain tract of land lying in the first society of Killingworth with a dwelling house Shed or small Barn and fruit trees thereon standing being the place I purchased of Oliver HILLIARD - Bounded Easterly by land of Samuel HULL 2'd Northerly partly by land of Elias CRANE & partly by land of Ebenezer REDFIELD westerly by land of Ebenezer REDFIELD southerly by highway: containing by estimation half an Acre of land be the same more or less

TO HAVE AND TO HOLD the above granted and bargained premises, with the appurtenances thereof, unto him the said William CARTER his heirs and assigns forever, to him and their own proper use and behoof. And I the said John BRADLEY do for myself and my heirs, executors and administrators, covenant with the said William CARTER his heirs and assigns; that at and until the ensealing these presents I am well seized of the premises, as a good indefeasible estate in fee simple, and have good right to bargain and sell the same in manner and form as it is above written, and that the same is free of all incumbrances whatsoever.

AND FURTHERMORE, I the said John BRADLEY do by these present bind myself and my heirs forever, to warrant and defend the above granted and bargained premises, to him the said William CARTER his heirs and assigns, against all claims and demands whatsoever.

Always provided that these Presents ?upon Condition that if the said John BRADLEY his heirs, Executors & Administrators shall well and truly pay to the said William CARTER his heirs executors or administrators a certain Note of hand by him the s'd John BRADLEY well executed dated the 26th day of September A. D. 1814 for the sum of two Hundred & seventy two dollars on demand with interest until paid according to the tenor of s'd Note or within one year from this date then this present deed to be void and of none effect otherwise to remain in full force Power & virtue

IN WITNESS whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and seal the 26th day of September Anno Domini 1814--
