Deed from Jedidiah BENNET to Henry CRANE

To all people to whom these presents shall come Greeting: Know ye that I Jedidiah BENNETT of Killingworth in the county of New London and Colony of Connecticut in New England for and in consideration of fifty pounds bills of credit of the old tenor received to my full satisfaction of Henry CRANE of Durham in the County of New Haven & Colony aforesaid Do give Grant Bargain sell & confirm unto the said Henry CRANE his heirs & assigns forever fourteen acres of land lying within the bounds of the Township of Saybrook in said County of New London in that part of Saybrook called Pataconk being part of the lot number five which contains One hundred & fifty eight acres to which is added thirty six acres and is bounded West on Killingworth, South on the line dividing between said Pataquonk land & Oyster River Quarter East on Lot no 4, and North on a piece of land of John CHAPMAN's and is in length Northerly and Southerly 304 rods and in Breadth 96 rods.

To Have and to Hold the above granted & bargained premises with the appurtenances thereof unto him the said Henry CRANE his heirs & assigns forever to his and their own proper use and behoof and also I the said Jedidiah BENNET do for myself my heirs executors & administrators Covenant with the said Henry CRANE his heirs & assigns that at and untill the ensealing of these presents I am well seized of the premises as a good indefefeasible estate in fee simple and have good right to bargain & sell the same in manner & form as is above written and that the same is free of fall incumbrances whatsoever, and furthermore I the said Jedidiah BENNET do by these present bind myself & my heirs forever to warrant & Defend the above granted & bargained premises to him the said Henry CRANE his heirs and assigns against all claims and demands whatsoever.

In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the eleventh day of Aprill in the 21st year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord George the Second of Great Brittain &c., King Annoque Domini 1748.
