Deed from Peter BEBEE to Joseph CLARK

To all People to whom these presents shall come Greeting Know ye that I Peter BEBEE of Saybrook in the County of New London & Colony of Connecticut in New England for & in consideration of the sum of two Hundred pounds in bills of Credit of the old tenor to me in hand paid by Joseph CLARK of Saybrook said County & Colony with which I do acknowledge myself fully satisfied and paid Do give grant bargain sell & confirm unto the said Joseph CLARK one certain piece or tract of land in the Township of Saybrook in the Parish of Chester West of the Great Cedar Swamp containing fifty acres more or less and is bounded West on land of Jabez CHAPMAN & on Common land South on land of Thomas MERRELL & on Common land, Northerly on land of Sam'll CHAPMAN and land of Sam'll WILLEY, Easterly on Common land the norwest corner is a Black oak tree and from said tree running Easterly Seventy five rods to a black oak tree and from said tree running Easterly Seventy five rods to a black oak tree and from said tree running Southerly fifty eight rods to a Chestnut tree and from thence running West to a white oak tree on rod and still running West a streight line forty eight rods to a small white oak tree & from said tree a North line one hundred & fifteen rods to the first mentioned black oak tree all which trees are marked and stones about them.

To have and to Hold the above granted and bargained premises with ye appurtenances thereunto belonging unto the said Joseph CLARK his heirs and assigns forever to his and their own proper use and behoof, And also I the said Peter BEBEE do for myself my heirs executors administrators Covenant with the said Joseph CLARK his heirs & assigns that at and until ye ensealing of these presents I am well seized of the premises as a good Indefeasible estate in fee simple and have good right to bargain and sell the same in manner & form above said and that the same is free of all Incumbrances whatsoever. And furthermore I the said Peter BEBEE do by these presents Bind myself my heirs forever to Warrant & Defend the above granted & bargained premises to him the said Joseph CLARK his heirs & assigns against all claims & demands whatsoever.

In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 9th day of Aprill in the twenty first year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord George the 2nd of Great Brittain &c., King Anno Domini 1748.
