In the duties of private life he was faithful just and benevolent. As a Naval officer vigilant and brave, as a Citizen firmly attached to the Liberties and devoted to the laws of his Country, of unblemished morals, a firm believer and a humble disciple of Jesus Christ. He resigned his Soul to God 27th Dec'r 1817.
    The memory of the just is blessed.
