Connecticut Line, Supplies 1777-1779, Middlesex Co., CT
An Alphabetical Account of the Names of those who have recivd Supplies from Towns, there Value at the Stated Price of 1776, & the Value of Money Lodgd by the Soldjer, together with the name of ye Town to which they belong.
[In December 1776 the Assembly passed an act fixing and stating the price of sundry articles of provision and other commodities. The following August another act was passed permitting soldier to deposit a certain proportion of their wages with the selectmen or a committee of the town in which they resided who were authorized to expend the sum so deposited in the purchase "at the stated price" of provision and supplies for the suppor of the family of the soldier making such deposit.]

[The Archives relating to the Revolution 30, numbers 8-50, consist of returns from various towns, giving particularly the names of soldiers serving in the Connecticut Line, who received "Town Bounties etc. before 1780," from the towns for which they served.
