ADMISSIONS & RENEWALS OF COVENANT

1698 - A church was embidied in Preston, Nov'r 16th, A.D. 1698. The Elders who embodied the church & preformed ordination were the Rev'd James NOYES, Pastor of Stonington, the Rev'd Moses NOYES, Pastor of Lyme, & the Rev'd Gurdon SALTONSTALL, Pastor of New London. The messengers from neighbouring churches: Deacon Gershom PALMER of Stonington, Deacon PECK of Lyme, Daniel WITHERELL Esq'r & Deacon DOUGLASS of New London; & Deacon Simon HUNTINGTON of Norwich.

They who offered themselves as matter for a church, having been members of other ch'hs, in full communion wither brought into order by giving their consent to articles of faith & renewal of Covenant. The persons were:
